Hotels in Türkiye: Where to Stay in Every City

Türkiye has one of the most varied accommodation landscapes in the region. At the top end sit Ottoman konaks in Safranbolu that have been meticulously restored as boutique hotels, cave-adjacent guesthouses on the edges of Cappadocia's valleys, and five-star beach resorts on the Aegean that compete directly with anything in the Greek islands or Croatia. At the budget end, the hostel network is extensive and well-run.

Value for money — particularly compared to Western Europe — remains strong even as Türkiye's tourism profile has risen. A well-located mid-range hotel in Antalya or İzmir costs a fraction of its equivalent in Barcelona or Lisbon. The key is knowing which cities suit which types of stay: we have written detailed where-to-stay guides for all 20 cities covered on this site.

Types of Accommodation

Boutique Ottoman Hotels

Converted Ottoman mansions (konak) and period buildings with original architectural features — wooden ceilings, courtyard gardens, hand-painted tiles. Safranbolu, Mardin, and Istanbul's historic peninsula have the best examples.

Beach Resorts

All-inclusive beach resorts cluster along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts — Antalya, Alanya, Marmaris, Bodrum, and Fethiye. Quality ranges widely; Turkish resorts can be excellent value compared to Greece or Croatia.

Budget Hostels

Türkiye has a well-developed hostel circuit, particularly in Istanbul (Sultanahmet and Beyoğlu), Antalya, Göreme, and Bodrum. Dorms typically run 300–600 TRY per night. Quality is generally high for the price.

Apartment Rentals

For stays of a week or more, furnished apartments are often better value than hotels, particularly in Istanbul. Platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com both list apartments. Longer-term (monthly) rentals are significantly cheaper negotiated directly.
